Day 04 - Gal inspirations

Hey there! (: I chose my own topic for Day 4 because I didn't really have much to write for the original challenge to be honest! xD. So without further ado I'm going to show what and who inspires me to do Gal!
I think its great to draw inspirations not only from people but places, objects and even cartoon characters and to save them into a large folder. Not only am I inspired by Japanese Gyaru's but also Gaijin gals to view different co-ordinates and people's different takes on it from a foreigner's perspective and the resources they have in their country.

Brighton Japanese Festival

On the holidays I visited Brighton for the Japanese festival hosted by Popi Atom - manager at Cyberdog Brighton. I completely forgot to write a blog post on it so...here it is!
I went with Lauren and we set off from London Victoria really early. We grabbed ourselves a McDonald's breakfast and headed off to Brighton!
Lauren on the train looking srs.
After two hours we arrived and got completely lost for an hour and ended up in Hove which was uhhh..Kind of my fault haha. We walked past the Taj-Mahal-looking-art-gallery-type-building along the way which is just before we go so horribly lost. I think the festival was literally just on the next road from this building...oops hehe. Well I know for next time and we got to the festival in the end!

When we reached the festival I met up with my old school friend Alex who I haven't seen in such a long time! It was great meeting up, he was one of my close friends in year 10/11 and he's so freaking tall (he's 6ft5"). I was the shortest and he was the tallest in our year at school, we looked really odd walking around together. I also met up with my friend Richard that I met in the summer of 2012 at the ScReW gig :)!
It was quite a small festival which I thought it would be as I've been to Brighton festival back when I was 16/17 and that was with Alex as well. I got myself some vegetarian sushi as I don't eat seafood because I was starved by the time we arrived and also had a long chat with Roxie Sweetheart as she had hired a stall for the event :D.
This is the ring I bought from Roxie Sweetheart because I absolutely adore Korillakuma :3 -please excuse my randomly wrinkley and yellow looking hand haha I get dry skin sometimes :c. I also finally got to wear my deco nails I bought from Tofu cute at MCM expo :D. They were a bitch to get off though.
Anyway we heard there was going to be a fashion show and Popi had introduced herself to us and convinced us (well convinced me more than Lauren as she was already up for doing it haha) to enter the fashion show. I got all dressed up so I thought why not? Although I wanted to walk up there with Lauren rather than alone haha.

So we waited and derped around a little bit in the Maids of England tent which is a maid Café in London that I still have yet to visit! >  >

Yeah we derped hard.
I'm just going to leave this image here....
We found it on all the tables in the café hahaha and I may or may not have taken it home with me...

When the shows started first up was Maids of England. Two maids did an Otaku dance...the song I don't know or remember and the Butler did a cover of Taeyang's - Wedding dress

Next was the Cyberdog fashion show which was sponsored by Roxie Sweetheart and Kiss Me Kill Me.
After that ended, we were up!! I was really nervous for some reason, even though the stage was very small and there wasn't a large audience I just have this fear that I'll fall off and break my neck haha.
There's me and Lauren in the left hand corner next to Roxie  where we had to introduce our names and the style we were wearing :)
Then we had to individually go down the cat walk and have photo's taken at the end, I walked with Lauren because I'm a wuss haha. Here are some photo's that Alex and Richard took :)

Us with Amélie and Popi Atom after the fashion show
A few minutes after the show was finished Popi approached me and said I won the fashion show which I was really surprised about. I won £40 worth of Cyberdog gift vouchers, Roxie sweetheart earrings, bracelet, ring and a Kiss me Kill me belt. Since I walked up with Lauren I halved the prize with her as we agreed before they announced who won :).
It was a great day but really exhausting as well.
Bye Bye
xoxo

First Shrionuri Attempt

Well howdy there, I have another make-up post, this time on Shironuri! It is a subculture that emerged in Harajuku, which mainly focused on Horror and gothic themes while painting the entire face white!
If this is translated it shows "Shiro" means "White" and "Nuri" means "painted." I'm not entirely sure how long this style has been around, although it has recently risen in popularity due to Shironuri Artist Minori.
Minori has put a unique spin on Shironuri by being influenced by natural materials and objects, in my opinion I think Minori's style looks really ethereal and artistic.
So I've decided to attempt this style for Hyper Japan coming up in July!

To achieve this look I used a blend of Mabyelline White stay UV in "Snow White", Snazaroo white face paint and Stargazer white powder.
I found that the Snazaroo face paint was too flaky and really highlighted how huge my pores are!
I have very dry areas of skin, especially on my nose and in the middle of my eyebrows (weird place I know xD). So I am thinking of treating the dry skin before applying anything.
Also, I am changing the White face paint to "Blanc de clown" by Snazaroo which is a cream instead of this crumbly and thick texture. Since this is my first attempt I have realised to get a better result I need to mix more foundation to the face paint, not the other way around. My entire face here is mainly just face paint which left after a few hours started looking grey/purplish! Nor did it give a smooth appearance or coverage, there were patches that had rubbed off!
I am also going to buy more flowers to stick onto my face and perhaps buy some pink temporary eye tattoos since it will be precise on both eyelids :).

Lastly, I need to work on the clothes as the top I chose is much too thick to wear during July! I will roast!
Here is a list of where I bought these items:
White Cotton Lolita Aristocrat-style shirt - Hyper Japan 2012 £25.99
Chiffon waiscoat - T.K.MAXX  £10.99
Chiffon Maxi Skirt - Vanilla (Camden Market) £30.99
Lace White Stockings - ebay £2.99
White Platform Mary-Jane style shoes - Milanoo £39.99 (Don't ever buy from this store though!! These shoes took over a month to reach me, there's so much bad feedback and items do not arrive looking like their stock photo! I was lucky to receive shoes in the right size as a lot of people get sent the wrong size and never get refunded, these aren't great quality either, the straps snapped within two months of owning them. Oh hot glue gun, how would I ever survive with you?)
Floral headband - Primark £3
Eyelashes - Diamond Lashes, purple packet. ebay £11.99
Wig - ebay £11.99
Lenses - Kimchi...angelic...violet...oh dear I can't remember their name nor the store I bought them from! :c They were on sale though, and cost me £9 (:
Teddy Bear - £1 Poundland (haha he's an air freshener!)
Pink Rose - H&M £2.99
Lace Cuffs - ebay £5.99
Here's a close up of my lace cuffs, they were handmade by the seller on ebay, although I can't find their store as I think they have sold all their items
And that's all peeps :)
Laterz~

Hyper Japan! November 2012~

So the morning started at half seven and it was pretty boring. I got ready and here's what I looked like! The bow, necklace and the bracelet was hand made by me.
I did Hime Gyaru again :D and actually bought a wig for it this time!
I had the crazy cab man ringing me three times near half nine telling me that the cab was leaving soon I was like, okay babes keep your tits on. Stop ringing me! Also he spoke really fast with a heavy accent so everything he said I just replied with "....yeah?" XD haha!!
Here's the accessories I made and wore:
Teddy bear bow
 Rose Bracelet

Crown choker
Me and myyyy Heba on the train, lol I'm kidding she's not actually mine...

(or is she?)
When we arrived I bought way too much than I should have >  > BUT I REGRET NOTHING.
The image on the left is me with this adorable girl who had wonderful headphones which she made herself! I have seen her at every Hyper Japan I've been to but I can't remember her name unfortunately :'((.
Oh! Guess who else I bumped into - VenusAngelic
I saw her around at Manga con too but I was too embarrassed to say hello both times. I've seen a few of her videos...they're a little uhm...eh but hey she can do what she likes haha. Its always odd to see the people you've watched on youtube.

As we were browsing I came across a nintendo stall selling old nostalgic games and as I looked upon the shelves I came across a Spyro plushie!!!

IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT AND I BOUGHT HIM FOR £8
Hahah I am a big fan of the PS1 Spyro games and not to mention he was the first ..."thing" I had a crush on as a kid! I was slightly odd child okay :c. I wanted to be a dragon too and save the world of Avalar with Spyro

Pixie Late also has her own shop now and was selling adorable items by Swimmer and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu x Mameshiba. I just had to by this wonder scarf in the image above. LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT BOW. I have an obsession with bows and also the pattern, the colour, the softness plus it was by swimmer, a brand I've always wanted to buy from. Yeah don't mind me being propa Gee with Spyro...

I wish I took a photo of all the food we had at Hyper Japan, their food is ten times better than the shitty "Sweet and sour" noodles you get at MCM. Even though the food is expensive it is worth it at Hyper Japan.
I had Japanese beef curry with fried vegetables, it had a specific name in Japanese but my memory is so terrible :c. Since then I've really wanted to try cooking it myself, it was lovely.

Then I had some Vegetable noodles (which also had a specific name in Japanese) I did want some kind of meat in the noodles, however the only option was prawns and I don't eat any seafood >->"
I don't think I'd survive if I ever visited Japan.
Then lastly I had Doriyaki which I also tried at Manga con and it consists of two mini pancakes held together with ice cream. Y'all maybe thinking, wont the ice cream melt?
Nope! It stays quite solid yet still soft and creamy enough to bite into.
Oh hello ;)
It comes in a variety of flavours and I bought the strawberries and cream (:
They have chocolate, red bean, custard and some others that I don't remember.
We then proceeded to take derp photos in the toilets ;)

Such a badman!
I will take photos of everything else I bought but the lighting is terrible right now but I got a photo of my posters :P I couldn't help myself! And I was only charged for two and these are excellent quality and a lot cheaper than the posters at MCM expo which were £10 each!
Even though T.O.P is my bias, I have this huge thing for Seungri.
I don't know what is but he seems like he'd be one of those secretly sexy boyfriends who acts derp in public but elsewhere...you know ;D hahaha
What am I saying? o.o

This is badly written but I'm tired and I can't remember what else happened haha!
